would changing airfilter make mitsubishi whinge? read on

Postby cj_sx_2011 » Mon Mar 26, 2012 2:17 am

hey to anyone who can help,

i have a 2011 lancer and have the long warranty thing right, and am thinking if i changed the stock filter to an aftermarket hks or k n n drop in filter and cut the little plastic bit in front of the intake bit to free up more air to go into the intake right, would mitsubishi have a whinge at me, and remove it and replace it all with a stock parts, or would they just whinge at me in general?

i only asking coz since i got my exhaust done, its felt really sort of restrictive off the line and in low rev range and im thinking most defiantly the aftermarket drop in filter and that plastic bit cut out more it will provide me with more air in the intake.

so if anyone could help that would be good. thanx.

Technically modifying your intake could void your warranty to your engine. But so will your exhaust.

Many have modded these 2 above and not had any engine problems. Seems to e safe mods to fit.

I would have thought that you would only void warranty on exhaust parts if you change exhausts? It's a separate item. If you damaged it somehow surely you can replace it with an aftermarket brand without voiding the engine warranty.

i dont see how it can void, as its better for ur car, but i might just call mitsubishi themselves or talk to them at there workshop and see i guess.
