Installation of Angel Eyes Help

Postby stirjo » Sat Mar 10, 2012 1:43 pm

Heyo

Alright, so ive asked around, spent some days tinkering, and no luck with my angel eyes. DIY i can do but all the electrical i get lost on. I know i should probably go to an electrician to do this, but i bought my lancer and love it and appreciate it, and it would mean heaps to me if i can do all the mods myself. This is where you come in!

I cant really write the problems im having so i went out this morning and took some shots. All i need is a clear description on installing the AutoMoGlow Angel eyes to my lancer 2011 CJ.

Anyways heres my engine

And heres the angel eyes

What i need to know is where all the connections go

This is the balast im assuming, which i just cable tie to anything

Image

Im not sure where this goes coz the orange tab fits perfectly in a spot in the fuse box

Image

Positive and grounding connections

Image

Which goes in these areas yeah?????

Image

I have absoluuuuuuuutely no clew what this is and where it goes :) (theres a yellow one and a white one)

Image

These are connect correctly yeah???

Image

And finally what do i connect here to make the angel lights act as DRLs??

Image

Sorry if that sounds stupid, but you all own lancers, you probably know what i mean XD
If you could find the time out of your busy schedule to help a brother in need that'd be perfect :)

Cheers

Jordan

If you want them to be DRL's i'd assume you just connect them to a point which is always active when the ignition is on, say one of the fuses in the fuse box - a test light will help.

Where did you buy these from?

If you hook the positive up to the battery the light will be on ALL the time as in they will only turn off when the battery runs flat.

You have said you have no idea what you are doing, all I can do is issue this warning be very very very careful as to what you are doing in relation to wiring. Don't you think a good start would be to actually install the DRL/angel eyes in the headlight as that is the most complicated and time consuming job.

Should have two wires fro me the actual angel eyes going to some sort of but I'm guessing you have the led ones. The thing in your picture looks more like a relay which would explain the yellow wire your not sure of. Again cant say for sure but that yellow one is most likely the signal wire so even if you have it all wired up positive and ground, nothing will happen unless you send a signal to the yellow wire. Try hooking it up to a positive acc source as a test. Then when you do the hard part and open your lights you can then wire it to something like your low beam

don't take my word on this cause i haven't done anything of the sort, in my head with limited knowledge of car electrics this should work

if you connect the angel eyes to the parking light wires, and remove the parkers, it should turn on, the only thing is whether there is enough powers in the parkers to have the eyes shine/shine as bright as you want

I'd be using these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/10x-T10-168- ... 1c1a257bb4 and wiring in the relay to it so you don't have to damage the factory wiring
