Yeah, the whole time I was changing the tyre and driving on the tiny spare I was thinking how much more convenient and safe a full size spare would be.
Would be good to grab a cheap full size spare wheel + tyre from someone selling on eBay just so you can have peace at mind when you do get a puncture like this.

Reason is on a FWD car the front wheels do all the drive, all the steering and 90% of the braking. the space saver is about half the with of a normal tyre so now all these components of a FWD car are unbalanced to one side of the car making it very unsafe, also space savers normally have a speed rating of about 80kph. Space savers should not be considered as a normal wheel they are for emergency only and should not be used more then they have to for safety.
