Yeah, the whole time I was changing the tyre and driving on the tiny spare I was thinking how much more convenient and safe a full size spare would be.

Would be good to grab a cheap full size spare wheel + tyre from someone selling on eBay just so you can have peace at mind when you do get a puncture like this.

It didn't feel too bad. That means double the work if your fronts get punctured..

Discovered that my rocker cover seal is... trying to think of a word describing completely destroyed lol...

Oil down the WHOLE block So purchased a new gasket/seal and Oil and filter whilst at it, hello sunday car workshop time

Different wheel circumferences are not good for you diff.
If it was RWD you wouldn't put it on the back.
If it was AWD you're screwed

Reason is on a FWD car the front wheels do all the drive, all the steering and 90% of the braking. the space saver is about half the with of a normal tyre so now all these components of a FWD car are unbalanced to one side of the car making it very unsafe, also space savers normally have a speed rating of about 80kph. Space savers should not be considered as a normal wheel they are for emergency only and should not be used more then they have to for safety.

Actually, space savers should always go on the back I believe even in a RWD situation.

The space saver should never go on the axle that does your steering.

Yeah shane i have heard the same thing,but if you have a flat on the side of the road on the front,how you go about changing wheels around to get space saver on back?? you would have to thenchange two tyres at once??
