front badge removal

Postby timdawes » Tue Nov 15, 2011 8:44 pm

i couldn't find anything on here so far so i thought i'd make a new post. i want to paint the front mitsubishi badge of my car matte black, can't work out for the life of me the easiest way to get the badge of? everything i read online (not lancer specific) says it should be held on with little plastic prongs, but the grill set up on this car is the worst thing known to man, so good luck with that. just wondering if anyone's done it, or if i just need to paint it still attached

cheers :)

On the RA front bar , the badge is attached just with double backing tape, so just pry out and peel gently.

Maybe get some matte black vinyl cut to the size of the diamonds also, would look quite good with the remaining exposed chrome highlighting the edges.

did it today. we'll see if it looks rubbish or not, the clear coat is drying at the moment! gave it 1 coat of primer, 3 of matte black, and 1 of clear coat. don't want it going too shiny! i just taped around it (using packing tape lol. ghetto as)
