And it's not something I would even look at :(

A new Renault Clio RS 200 Trophee. God help me. I did everything I could to talk him and his girlfriend out of it but they just wouldn't listen. They love it. I hate French cars :(

As long as they are happy... I am glad they went with what they want.

Renaults have come a long way....

Yeah but their resale values havnt :P..... i really wanted to get a megane rs 250 cup but the resale value is what is turning me away....

Well as they say, lots will fall off the car in the first few months then it will be solid as a rock for the rest of its life.

Golf GTi is a safer choice but might not be as fun!

Their choice, people said the same when we bought the Lancer.

Megan RS250 is pretty hot; the Clio is a bit meh.

Yes and I still do sometimes. It was our second car when the kids were growing up. It was great. Still is. Our 17 year old has it now. The Clio is the same size yes. The size of the car isn't the problem really. It's the resale in the future and the fact that it's French.

That's my main problem. I'm worried if they want to sell that they'll end up owing more than they can get for it. I saw an RX8 on carsales that was $10000 more than the others of the same age because that's what he still owed on the car.

The Megane is way more than the Clio. So was the Golf GTI. The damn Clio is $40,000. Lot of money to be laying out at 22. He was looking at a WRX but the Subaru guys were treating his girlfriend like shit.

They're buying it together. It's their first big commitment and joint debt :)

Her car got written off officially yesterday after some jerk sideswiped her 323 Astina last week. His car ran out of rego because he couldn't get it home in time. Now he's going to sell it.
