Long shot - who wants to swap auto for a manual gearbox?

Lol long shot i know but is anyone that has an auto wanting a manual? Ive got a manual vr but really wishing i got an auto.
Would anyone know the best place to get the gear box n conversion parts? or would anyone want to trade their auto box n gear for the manual box n gear in my lancer?

Go back to mitsu and trade.. It would be so much effort to convert Manual to CVT..

I would have already done that but the lancer is under a car loan n dont think id be able to trade him in for an auto

You would be looking at a couple of thousand in labour to transplant all of the stuff in each car. It is a huge huge job....

You are best to speak to the finance company, they will probably refinance the loan using the new vehicle as security...

Personally I would keep the manual, it is going to be a lot of expense to change either way...

Agreed keep the manual or buy a CVT and trade in yours.

It is more work to swap transmission then you could ever spent changing gears.

The labour wouldnt be a problem, the bf is an appretice mechanic n 2 of his mates own their own shop so itd be mates rate for labour. Was just curious whether anyone else was in the same boat wishing they had got a different transmission. Ill talk to the dealer/bank n see what they say.

In addition to the transmission change, ECU needs to be chged as well which wont be cheap especially since dealers are the only ones who can program em....... maybe go look at a wreckers for the parts u need.... that would be ure best option if ure still serious about chging transmissions

Would also make people iffy about wanting your car when you decide to sell it.
Too much that could have gone wrong.

I'd suggest doing what others have recommended and see if you can trade it in on an auto

Check Mitsiwreck wreckers on Grand Junction road. Last time I was there they had a Lancer. Not sure if it was auto.

and also a straight up trade isn't that simple in a way that I would assume that anybody who opted for a CVT car would have done so in strong preference cause they had to add 2 grand extra to the price of the car.

There would be a fair bit of a price difference as the car is 'used' and therefore depreciated and the original price difference between the two transmissions

The other problem is that the only person who might be interested is someone with an Aspire as they didn't have the choice of a manual.... Generally most people will purchase the kind of transmission they want.

Trading is really the only option, or be happy with your manual. The manual transmission in the CJ is very forgiving...

Ive spoken to the bank n found a wrecked auto cj 2010 model.
Can someone give me a list of all the parts id need off the auto to fit to my car. Theres is a ES n sushi a VR, im assuming the parts will fit?
N any idea how much i can sell my manual gearbox, computer etc for?

You're going to have no warranty so you may as well ask mitsu what is different. Idk if 2.4s and 2.0s have a difference between them either.

And who knows what you'll get for the parts, there's little market for this because everybody just buys the transmission they want

Plus most lancer's drivetrains are still under warranty.
