Mt Gravatt Mountain

Postby alt24 » Tue Oct 25, 2011 7:03 pm

Today I was at Mt Gravatt Mountain and realized just how great it'd be for a photoshoot / minimeet.

Took a couple of photos on my phone.

At the top of the mountain there's car parks for 20 odd cars and a really nice cafe however it's a really short drive up and too tight for any real fun :(

Too tight meaning you've got absolutely no idea whats coming your way. I've had close calls with other idiots crossing into my lane.

To tight????

It's less then 2ks from my house and I take the evo up there at least once week often after work at night.

If anything it's to short, not as much fun as Nebo or Glourious, but still good for a quick drive.

We used to meet up there quite regulary in the days of SIR-VRX

that road is notorious for accidents and idiot drivers racing up and down it.

VERY tight corners.. 20-25km/h if that

i think they may have put guard rails in now as there have been cars go over the edge a number of times.

We could easily thrash up and down it without worry, its the other drivers that worry me. Even worse is that people test drive cars from the dealers there and floor it without any experience in the car.

That's why you need to have a reasonible gap betwen other cars, (especially front ones),v. good knowledge of your car, and UHF/ radios!

its an open public road thats under control of traffic laws and speed limits.

"thrashing up and down it" is bloody stupid and irresponsible.

its drivers like you that worry me when im on the road.

your the type of person that is the reason behind mountain run cruises being banned by a lot of car clubs. im not sure if CCJ has implemented that bit of common sense yet.

It's just a saying mate, doesn't mean I'm implying anything illegal. I find it quite rude that you make these bad assumptions of me without even seeing me drive first, especially when others are mentioning stuff as well.

Not big enough for a meet, it closes early. I believe its 11pm? Very dangerous road, especially if you don't know it. I see where your coming from to have a bit of fun. Can be lethal if two people decide to have a bit of fun in opposite lanes. Doesn't have to be anything illegal, still quite dangerous.
