SShhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Stop it! My car is two days old and I've been staring off every piece of gravel on the road!

Re: the perforation warranty, this warrants against rust from the inside out basically, as a guarantee of workmanship. The only thing that is going to stop a chip in the metal from rusting is potentially an electronic rust protection kit. In theory these should prevent rust (by making it chemically impossible, refer high school chemistry) to any conducting part of the car that can be traced back to where the unit is mounted.

Erin, you're best bet is to Go to your Mitsi Dealer and buy the Touch up Paint that comes with tiny brush for $15 and Touch up any chip you have , do them as they happen, this will seal and colour the chip, stopping any rust from forming and moisture getting under the Clear Coat, which will start to lift if not sealed up, $15 is a worthwhile Purchase to Prevent the Rust and Protect the Clear Coat

Yeah, go to your local dealer, mine didn't stock touch-up paint and said that the parts warehouse (john hughes on welshpool rd in welshpool) sells it, went there and they had heaps of paint for $15 ea
