I'm down with that, what sort of tyres are they offering though? I know the nexens are ok, an "economy performance" tyre.

I think you should get the springs installed by someone, assuming you have no experience with this stuff (based on the fact that you asked :P).

I got mine done with Rahul, took a while but worth it knowing its done right, and they have to take the wheels off anyway...

When were you going to get them done?

The tyres they have in 18" are Nexen N6000, N8000 and N9000. Check out their site: www.visionr.com.au

Since I'm going to get the springs done as well I need them before I do the wheels so it's going to be a good month away at least? Also depends if I want exhaust or wheels first :P Where did you buy your springs from and how much?

Hey David I got a reply, I don't know if he's going to budge very much on the price. He seems to keep dodging my "What's the cheapest price you can do for me/any package deals for me?" questions.

Hi Aaron,

We have gun metallic, hyper black and steel grey, I think we got +38 offset , will need to check what we have left in +44.

225/40/18 no problems, u can run either 235 or 225.

Yes u can come to put the wheel next up to your car.

Price is for wheels, tyres, labour to fit, balance is $1699

Kind regards

Wei

I think Rahul got his Tenzos for 1600 at Tech9 so if VisionR doesn't budge on their price I'd rather get Tenzos...

Hey Aaron,

Those N9000 tyres have a crazy tread on them!

I'd be going for 235/40/18 for tyre size, especially with the 8.5" rim.

To put this into perspective, I was offered Advanti Talons with N6000's for $1500 from Tech9 back in Jan. At that point I was still considering Weds so I didn't follow it up.

I think $1700 for Rota's and Nexen tyres is a pretty good price. I think if we both rock up, ready to pay, he will be willing to drop the price so we don't walk.

As for going in, I'm free most Saturdays. If you can't go then, I might be able to make it on Friday afternoon next week. I'll be at training all week in Mandurah and we finish at 2pm, so it'll take me about an hour to get back to Perth, we could go after that?

Springs: As Rahul said, we got them from advance speed shop, from memory they were around $350 delivered.

Oh and I'm happy to wait for a month, as Jake can tell you I'm in no rush for new wheels :D

On another note, has anyone ever dealt with Hyperdrive in Malaga?

Yeah I'll be going for 235's as well, I have no idea why but I thought 225 was wider... Silly me.

I'll get back to you on the meeting up thing. I'm free all Saturdays after 2pm.

How's the ride on the springs (Teins right?)? Do you scrape a lot? I can't decide whether to go small drop (Eibach pro-kit), medium drop (Eibach sportlines), or go the whole hog (Tein S-tech). I'm leaning towards the sportlines, best of both worlds.

well aaron sportline and teins are pretty low so u will def get scraping and a pretty harsh ride... the best of both worlds is actually the eibach pro kit which is the closest to stock ride and low enough to reduce the masive gap.....

Oh right haha, but I saw pictures of lancers lowered with the pro-kit, and it doesn't seem to make that much difference?

well when u first put the spring takes a bout a month or two for them to settle to so the ride height wont chge immediately.... u have seen my car and dave's car and now that they have settled they look just right.... but its up to you if u want a lower height tho....

Aaron, it depends on where you drive really. I do a fair bit of driving in lots of suburbs and the only time I can think of that I've scraped is in Subiaco because they have stupidly steep carpark entrances... Apart from that, I haven't had any problems at all with the Eibach pro kit, and the drop is just right IMO.

As for the wheels, Saturdays after 2 is fine by me, just need to make sure Wei is going to be there.

Sweet as, I've emailed him to ask if he will be in or not. Also, I've convinced a mate at work that if we can get the Rotas cheap enough he will buy a set too. :)
