NSW - Meet/event calender for 2011/2012 - Discussion thread.

I'd be happy to tag along to my first meet at Olympic park. Pictures would be fun too.

I can also be photographer, but ill need to know ahead of time, so i can ask to borrow the needed equipment from my uncle.

I'm thinking we could/should tie these photoshoot events as a larger scale mini-meet over and above the regional mini-meets that we have currently scheduled.
Maybe have these "show and shine" events every 8 weeks roughly in a great photo shoot location, everyone should have cleaned and buffed and shined their car ready for showtime! Day time weekends would work best. Industrial areas, sea ports, bondi beach, north head, etc would make great locations, day or night.
People can just swarm in, have our budding photographers take the shots and catch up and show up our latest accumulation of mods.

Places like White Bay power station would be great. Of course we'd have to make enquiries to see if we can gain access to places like that...

I think we could also get some other Lancer car clubs involved such as MLGA, etc.

How about cruises such as:
Great Ocean Drive??? Down to the Gong, Kiama for fish and chips then all the way to Robertson... Or vice Versa

Windsor to Singleton via Putty Rd... It aint the best road in Syd but the drive is quite nice through the hills...

A mini meet can happen at UWS Parra.... Its my uni and at night time there is a bit of space mainly to park up and talk... Security a bit of clowns but should be sweet

I second this idea. Even if you don't have new mods in the 8 weeks, an ideal location will make anyones car look better.

Perhaps the first one could actually be at Olympic Park. For reference, here are some from a BMW night photoshoot on the road outside ANZ stadium http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=431098#. Looks pretty awesome I must say, and the lighting is excellent.

I do photography in my own time and I got a close mate who does photography too (and hes planning to be a professional) and not trying to be egotistical here but we are pretty good. Neither of us have done car photography before but im sure we will be able to pick up on it pretty quickly.

In terms of lighting I have a wireless flash (and by the time of the shoot hopefully ill have my 2nd or my 3rd ) If we can get access to a power point my mate will be able to bring professional lighting.

However one bad aspect, we are both currently doing our hsc, and hell is very close, so we wont be able to do any photo shoots until after the tests, which basically means mid-november onwards.

So when it comes to that time Ill be extremely happy to be one of the photographers in a minimeet, Olympic park would be perfect for me or anywhere in the inner west sydney.

Sure we can, however we need someone that is familiar with the routes and good places to get a feed to organise/co-organise a route and propose a suitable date. Are you offering?

That might be a touch and go, as technically it's is private property and if security are clowns, do we really need the hassle of being moved on and being venueless for the night...

I just checked out the Convoy For Kids event... I think its meant for trucks/4WDs/company trucks by the looks of the pics and entry form. Wouldn't hurt if we could ask them to join, right? It looks like fun.
