Juisarian is new in town

Postby Juisarian » Fri Sep 09, 2011 12:08 am

Hi all

Adam here, I have de-lurked because the time has finally come for me to buy a CJ Lancer.

I'm based in Adelaide, going down to see the great great guys in Morphett Vale tomorrow for a test drive, hoping to get an MY11 SX. It will mainly be for my wife to drive and I will be stuck with the Camry until the time comes for my big VRX purchase (a few months ago the dealer up the road had a red 08 VRX with sunroof, Rockford audio and custom rims... still regret missing that one a bit but I would prefer a later MY).

Other than that I'm a total geek and my hobbies include the Internet.

Cheers

Juisarian

Welcome Adam.

Probably a good decision to wait for a MY09 VRX so you get the bigger engine.

The Aspire is another note worthy 2.4litre :D
Love that car!

Thanks all. Taking delivery of the new car (blue SX auto) next Saturday!! :D

Never thought I would buy a brand new car but the warranty and fixed price servicing made it too good a deal.

That is excellent news Adam. Yes the value for money is to good to buy a second hand car.

Please post up some pictures of you picking your car up and remember "love that car". lol

I took a lot of time working out what car I wanted. I originally wanted a Mazda (I've owned them for 26 yrs) but the warranty and the fact that the SX had the same or more than much more expensive cars sold me on it. My daughter saw a Mazda 6 the other day and asked me if I would rather that sleek number. I asked her why. Mine has the same in it and it was just under half the price. The Mazda 3s had nowhere near the same stuff and were more expensive for the base model.

My hubby was trying to get me to buy a used Berlina that his work were selling. The Lancer was around the same price and new. I could have had the Berlina for around $18000. That's what the Nissan dealer got it for on a new Murano. On the lot it is about $27000 now. The Mazda dealers had the same model Berlina for $29990 in February when I bought the Lancer. I didn't want a boring white Commodore anyway :)

I love my Lightning Blue SX. I'm sure your wife will too.

I can't stand the look of the Mazda to be honest, good car but the styling really annoys me. The CJ is the one of the best looking cars in the world in my eyes :)

Did check out a very nice Mazda 3 (used) a while back with the leather interior etc but it would have cost more than my new Lancer!

I used to love the old style 3s. I would have had the blue SP23 Luxury pack quick as look at you. The SP23s were more than mine new. A friend got one for $17000 but all the ones I saw were $23000. Hubby wanted me to get a new one if we were going to pay that for a used car. I hate the smiley face. They're freaky. I was going to settle for a 3 Maxx for $24000 because I hadn't found anything I really liked.

And then I walked into the Mitsubishi dealers :)

When I saw the CJ I stopped looking. I was in the same dealers as the Holden Cruze and I was going to look at that after I finished with the Lancers. Didn't even look at the Cruze. Sitting in the Lancer made my heart miss a beat. Wasn't going to go past something that made me do that. It still does 7 months later.
