Getting windows tinted in melbourne ~ where?

Hey guys!

I didn't get window tinting from the dealer, partly because i forgot to bargain it in before the sale

Anyhow, I'm definately going to get some tinting done soon.

I need your guys recommendations for tinting places in the south-eastern suburbs (victoria) and even your preferences for different tints/shades

Hey Ali! It is a my11 blue lancer SX. I'm not sure if the rear window is made of "privacy glass", it looks pretty clear to me. It has black strips running horizontally through it if that helps I'll have a better look in the morning and let you know straight away.

The SX doesn't have privacy glass as standard.

Tint Professor is quite reputable especially if you want the darkest legal shade.

Hey Andrew, thats another area i need help with decision making in. I don't know what shade/type of tinting would look and be good on my lancer. If you guys have any advice or recommendations on how dark to get it, it would be much appreciated. I would also like my tint shade legal

35% is the darkest legal.
It's a pretty good darkness, not too dark and can still see through it at night.

I got 35% 3M tints. It's pretty good.

The CJ models that come with the rear privacy glass are around 18-20% and they are very dark.

Many places can still do this though. Just have a look around and maybe sit in a few cars with varying levels of tint and decide which one you want. Also be sure to sit in one at night.

Well, when you are have free time and the money ready go down to my friend shop and he can show you different type of tinting color etc... and price on each one.. it will be a lot cheaper than dealer.

i will tell him i send you there so he can give you more discount

What are the differences between these tints?

Would you guys recommend any other of the brands of tint on the site? I'm looking at these specifically because they have been mentioned the most through my reading

I'd like to ask what are the main differences between midnight express and formula 1 tint? Which is the overall better tint in your opinions?

I am interested as well. Few days later (after order a new car), Mitsubishi rang me and offer all sort of rubbish, one of them was windows tint. I told them I only interest for windows tint. Guess on the price! $500.

Yeah, I think that a group tint may get us better value than going it alone. If Andrew can vouch that his mate will do a great job, then we may as well find other members who need tinting. I have a car on its way for darker glass!
