Road Trip!: Melbourne
Moderators: Moderators, Senior Moderators
Looks like my fun return trip will now have to be scrapped...
Tune is up in the air at the moment... currently looks like it will be done after 8pm...
Still going to get there early enough to Meet Ofey, Nick and hopefully Lee... but I will no longer be going to TMR
Means I will have plenty of time to install my Sunglass holder!

Trip to Melboure...
Well the trip didnt start very well... since its such boring road I was keeping myself amused by singing along to the songs.. forgot to watch my speedo and got pinged by the cops for doing 132 in a 110 zone... first speeding ticket in 5 years, but entirely my fault...
After that bit of excitement, I continued to cruise along before hitting heavy fog, that got the heart rate up! .. Only problem I missed my usual fuel stop, ended up driving with the fuel light on for nearly 100km.. luckily I made it to Albury and the car took on 54.34lts of fuel.. that was a little scary! ... The heavy fog kept things interesting until Melbourne.
First stop was to see Nick at Prestons Mitsu... Top bloke with some interesting stories.. think I was there for over an hour chatting about this and that!
Next stop was to see Ofey and collect the GB goods, Ofey heard me coming a mile away and was outside ready for me!
After cross checking everything and loading the car up, we spent some time chatting about mods and going over my car... He told me where PYLee works, but I missed a turn and end up a few ks in the wrong direction... Next time Lee
Next stop was for the Tune, rolled up to where my mate was working to do the minor fix... First attempt to talk to the ECU resulted in the entire centre screen flashing every error... TMR locked the ECU... we emailed a few people and I let him get back to work until we got an answer on where to go from here...
I decided to go see Mickey and Sam from TyrePower (i had bought my CE28's from them) while I waited... Drove straight into the fitting area and Mickey and Sam came straight out to see the car, they hadnt seen the car with the rims fitted and where impressed with the look... I asked Mickey for a set of Rays Valve caps as mine got stolen earlier this year... He didnt have any caps only sets, turned the shop upside down looking for a set, in the end he just opened a pack of stems and took the caps off and fitted them all on for me and a total cost of $0.00... Legend!
Now I have nice red valve caps on my 'custom faded' red stems
Left there and decided to go get some food around 3pm.. then came the call... Only way to unlock the ECU was to remove it and completely wipe it, before reloading it which should be a last case senario... Anyway i told him I would wait till 5pm for anymore news before leaving... no news.. headed out and surprisingly got alot of heavy fog from 8pm onwards...
I managed to catch up to a highway patrol car on the way back, They decided to play a little game, they slowed down below the speed limit, but when I tried to pass them, they pumped the gas, I did the same.. but when they went for it and got infront, I just merged lanes, didnt want a second ticket! ... they smiled and tooted before doing a U-Turn and heading back the other way.
All in all it was a still a good little trip... hopefully I get some good news on the ECU tomorrow... Maybe another melbourne trip in the very near future
