An easy test is to leave bird poop on the paintowrk for a day or so, then wash it off. If the bird poop leaves a mark, then your paint protection has fully worn out
Probably not too far to be honest.
So you're saying it would leave a permanent mark if there wasn't protection left? I might try the sensitivity test as well.
It's just that, beyond what the product claims to do, I'm not too sure if it'll last 5 years or 1 year. Water beading, as an immediate effect, lasts for about 4 months. Shine seems to be similar on regularly cleaned cars as well.
Cheers.

Car is 1.5 years old, had Toughseal on it since new (thanks exaltd), and I wash with their Wash & Gloss. After around every third wash I apply their Dry Wash & Shine.
I've found that bird poo, if wiped off within about 12 hours, normally doesn't leave a mark. If it does, I use their Step 1 pretreatment to remove the mark, then Step 2 to seal again.
It's good stuff.
The key I've found is to wash bird poo off as soon as I notice it, not to leave it till I get home or the next day .....
