Tried installing the sports grille today, and I couldn't get it to fit. The clips fit in perfectly, but the middle section right behind the badge looks different to the stock one. I couldn't fit it onto the section of the bumper which you are supposed to bolt on to.

Any tips guys?

All it is, it's four screws on the sides top and bottom and clips all around. The center bottom bit doesn't have a screw or a clip insertion point at all.

For some strange reason, the centre bottom also has a threaded hole for a screw. Have a feeling that the previous owner may have re-threaded these holes with new inserts though. I've circled the threaded holes in the images below.

The flaps seem like they are meant to be there, but the tapered edge in the middle is smaller than the blue mount it's supposed to connect to. :S

Hey mate, I got your PM. Unfortunately I dropped my car off at the tuners today so I have no way of checking (I actually got up out of my chair before I remembered my baby isn't here :(). I took my grille off to plasti dip it but that was quite some time ago...

I can confirm that the black flaps are meant to be there. I think there were 5 screws too, I know I had trouble getting a screwdriver short enough to get in to re-attach the bottom screws. I'm about 65% sure there were three screws at the bottom, sorry I can't offer any more info than that :(

When I get my car back ion the 13th I can confirm for you then if you haven't figured it out before that :)

Cheers,

Dave.

Hey BlackBetty,

Thanks for the video. It looks like they remove most of that centre point and only leave a place to hang some of the cabling. It's for their own aftermarket grille though, so it might be a bit drastic for the Mitsubishi sports grille.

I'll just wait for a while and see how it goes. Might wait until Itachi (David) can have a look at his.

Thanks anyway though.
Cheers,
Danny

Haven't had a look at it yet due to the weather.

Boom headshot. :P

I had made a higher bid than what I won it for. I didn't expect to win it in the first place at that price, but it looks like noone was there to bid higher when it closed.

I still haven't touched it since the first failed fitting. It might end up for sale if I still can't get it in. If left unpainted, it doesn't fit the blackout very well.
