Rebadged Outlander maybe?

Postby SXLancerMum » Sat May 21, 2011 1:38 pm

Hi all

I was wandering down the street this morning and there was a Peugeot SUV thingy parked there. It was identical to the new Outlander. Even had a squarish looking nose. Hubby thought it was an Outlander until he saw the Peugeot badge. Even the interior looked like a Mitsubishi.

Either Peugeot are rebadging Outlanders as a Peugeot or they had the same ideas as Mitsubishi. They look too much alike.

They are sharing the platforms. There are differences though.

That is how Mitsu introduced a diesel into the Outlander, in other international markets :)

Here is a drive article... http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/Artic ... leID=68843

Citroen C-Crosser is also an Outlander underneath.

I knew there was another, but couldn't remember what it was called.

Thanks for that Shane and Danny. I'm glad I wasn't going mad seeing Mitsubishis where I shouldn't be :)

Add to that the Great Wall that's using old Outlander engines then the Outlander isn't too bad eh if everyone wants their bits.

I reckon they can keep the Peugeot though. According to that Drive article it's more expensive with less features for what is essentially the same car. Go Mitsubishi :D

Also did you realise that Mitsubishi make the Space Rockets for the Japanese Space program. I was watching one of those Discovery shows and there were lots of little Mitsubishi men making things and doing the rockets.

My friend's family bought a peugot/outlander. You pay quite a bit more just for a badge and a diesal engine. Largely defeats the point of buying a diesal car...

I thought 'that interior looks familiar', and they let me sit in it and I said 'haha its just like my car, what did you pay for it?' :P

I actually wanted the Outlander last year. I just couldn't really justify spending the extra $10k and it was also my first car, so I wanted something easier to drive.

It's very possible that the next generation Outlander would be on my wish list.

I had an 05 Outlander.

If anything I found it easier to drive due to having better visibility.

Yeah it turns out the Foresters at my workplace are heaps easier to drive, particularly in reverse. I don't need sensors in the Forester whereas I really need it in the Lancer.
Good looks come at a price I suppose. A low boot would cause the Lancer to look like a Tiida :S
