Bought a 1400 kg trolley jack and jack stands from SCA today. Turns out that the trolley jack doesn't lift the car high enough for me to use the jack stands at the jack points.
Going to bring it back and ask for store credit for a larger one. They shouldn't say no to this as it's a safety issue and their packaging even recommends jack stands.
Not impressed...

Returned Supercheap Auto 1400kg trolley jack. They were pretty reasonable when I told them that I couldn't get the jack stands under the car.
Went over to Autobarn and Repco to have a look at their offerings. Ended up getting a $160 Pro-Lift 2T one. Looks pretty decent and the maximum height is pretty high, at 495 mm. If I can't jack stands under these, then I don't think any other jack would do.
