In fact, as I was telling a QLD member last night, I encourage any member to get the ball rolling on mini-meets, cruises, catch up for dinner/movies/whatever, etc. Having different people from different areas pitching new meet places, runs, etc. Adds to the fun and mystery of going to new places outside of people's normal comfort zones.

If you put forward ideas and they get shot down for no fair reason, then escalate to one of your state mods or a senior mod (myself or Ofey) or Matt if you're getting no where with the administrator. Steve is not the only port of call....

The only reason I can see that a meet is not approved, is if it's unsafe or unbecoming to the club's image in some way or something along those lines.

In Steve's defense here I have known Steve to say to Members to organize a cruise -Meet as long as everyone stick's to the ClubCJ rules which is fair enough .....

This is the whole uproar Doreen, he told us to organise our own meets, so we did, then we get threatened with banning, while none of us have done wrong by the club, the law or the general public

...as long as you organise them on FaceBook, or so I have been advised.

As Moderator, I'd prefer for the meets to be organised via CCJ. It's open and transparent and anyone can join in. that's the point of having a club. If everything is being done on FB, why bother having CCJ in the first place? Not every QLD CCJ member has every other CCJ member on FB. So if it's on FB only, then not everyone has a chance to attend as they won't be aware of it.

Shaine , I do understand what you are saying .... I was mainly commenting what Blake had said about " Steve doesn't like anyone else organizing the Cruise- Meets " I don't think that is Quite true Blake .....

Well it does seem that way... Why else would he do what he did? He found out we've been having meets and lashed out at us.

I have a couple of ideas about why steve would have been upset but those were not mentioned by him.

The only thing we have to see is the statement he made about bans for anyone racing around mountains.

Question would be. Was anyone racing or doing illegal things on the mountains?
If the answer is a clear NO.

I don't see the need for steve's post and shaine amongst other QLD members are well within their rights to be peeved?

OK. So lets try and get some facts into this.

If anyone knows what went on on the cruise(s) - (and that would be certainly at least a few people on the cruise) - let one of the mods or Mattigins know.

I want to hear all viewpoints, good, bad, but most importantly the truth.

Confidentiality will be assured and we wont be discussing who said what in the comm discussions unless we have your express permission to reveal your identity in commitee discussions.

Well in the truth of things.... I organised meets/ cruises on EvoOz firstly, and if I get interest then I post it up on here. Not for any one particular reason. Don't know why really. I just feel I get along with the guys better? But I always leave enough time to invite more people. So I don't take into consideration whether or not the admin approve of the cruise/ meet as I wouldn't cancel it even if they did say no to it. I still don't know what happened, but all I know is I enjoy the information on this site and you all seem to be nice and friendly. Enjoyed meeting all the QLD people when I went to the last meet. I do feel a little secluded from you all though when I goto a meet... Like you all think I drive a Evo and that I must be a snob to you all or something because of that. Stigma maybe? who cares, anyway um so who is coming to my un-approved cruise meet? I might not even be able to attend my own cruise because it's my birthday on the 30th and apparently my Wife has made other plans that she has only just informed me of

If you wanna come to my EvoOz cruise there will be probably 15+Evo's coming and other imports pretty much anyone who wants to come can come, It's not restricted to any particular vehicle type...

Only reason I can see for ppl to organize meets on fb is so ppl that can't get on CCJ can attend, and what I have seen on fb rubs me the wrong way too, (not the meets/cruises)
