accolade body kits

Hey all I plan on buying an accolade fq400 body kit, and I wish to know if anybody has got any accolade body kits and there experience with them, eg how they fit?, how long shipping took?, final product?, etc??

No one can color match perfectly, harder if your car is a dark color.

You save some by getting them to color match in a way but the color may well be off.

there is a way to colour match correctly, but its way to difficult, as there is to many things that change the colour slightly.

tempreature, paint mix, what its applied on(steel or plastic or fiberglass, etc) what primer its on, the clear even changes it slightly. there is way to many variables that change the paint colour to match perfectly,

its better to get it matching close then to wett out the paint (means blend) in too the other panels so there is no hard edge of different colours, makes it allot less noticable.

The reason why I'd say it'd be hard is that accolade would be in Sri Lanka or USA. the person asking the question is here in Au. Over the time he has owned his vehicle, the color will slowly start to vary.
If you send the paint code to Accolade, they will paint it according to what their machine produces based on the code, then when applying it to the plastic material they make their bodykit out of, it won't look anything like the color.

So again we're back to finding it hard to paint match from a distance.

Better to get it painted here.

it is possible, i know of 1 and my father knows of a few that can colour match, pretty much perfectly, not exactly but enought that your eye cannot tell

the best spray painter i have ever seen was a guy that was colour blind. he was full on colour blind and only saw things in Grey, so he could pick up the slightest difference because of the tone.

Blakey's guy can color match without even seeing the car.

I can color match wearing a blindfold and having my hands tied behind my back..

When I had my bumper done, I was told they would try their best to colour match as it is metallic paint and the problem is that the static in the paint doesn't come out as well in plastic as it does in metal.

Overall, they did a really good job, hard to tell the difference.

I was interested in the same body kit from accolade... My mate bought one (it wasn't the fq but) ill ask him and get back to you.
I do have a question about the body kit though. I've never bought a body kit before and the fq400 comes with these flair things that go on your door since the fenders stick out further around the wheels. Would they stick on to your door or will your door have to be stripped and the piece stuck on then the whole door resprayed?
There's no 'seam' in the pics that show its stuck on but it could just be a pic of an actual fq400?
