i've been considering about getting a front lip and thought of the heartaches that i'll get if i scrape so i decided to look around for a solution that would reduce the damage when scrape.
Here is what i found
Alright so since I was given good information, I will give back to the community. For those riding low and usually scrapes like me, using body molding is an INGENIOUS idea. The install was actually very easy and I think anyone can do it.
Provided below are pictures of the finished product. There are gaps between the molding because those gaps have screws. I decided to no cover up those screws because first the molding won't stick very well to the bumper and second if I ever need to access those screws, I wouldn't want to rip my whole molding apart.
You can actually curve the body molding around the corners to avoid cutting up different pieces of body molding. I learned that after the fact so you will see one that is separated.
Installing this body molding makes me very happy because I cringe every time I hear a scrape. Hope it helps you guys out too. Oh and in the last pic, my daughter helped me wrapped up the body molding. There is enough left for another front bumper.
Happy low riding.
I think its a great idea to prevent minor scrapes , of course if you hit your bumper/lip hard enough , it'll still crack. What do you think ?
