lancer cy but its an sx non turbo

so i bought a brand new lancer sx 2011 at the start of the year and took it for its first service they asked for my vin and said they couldnt service my car cause its a cy (lancer evo) just wondering if its unusual or has any1 heard of a similar story

i got it serviced but took some persuading to convince them it was a normal lancer

the lancer evo is a CZ4A , CY4A is the standard lancers

not sure about the servicing thought, but i want to ask if the car came with the front body or did u change it to the evo x body? thanks

Hey Ali, I was wondering the same thing about his front bar, so I visited his garage:

Description: brand new lancer sx stock fitted with evo front and side body kit and evo x spoiler.

Now it cant be a genuine EVO front bar because they're a different wider size and wont fit.
So it must be after-market, looks good though.
So where did the dealer source it from, if it was actually fitted by or at the dealership before the sale, or did Brenton have it fitted elsewhere after he bought the car.

yea i also visited his garage to see if there are any pictures but couldn't find any so i read the description and i think its an aftermarket body, but it would be really great if he told us where or how he got it cheers

I suspect the dealersip mechanics meant it as a joke.

If a mechanic cannot find the Lancer's VIN,I'm not sure he should be servicing them.

The kit definitely is NOT a genuine EVO front. As SAM mentioned, the genuine ones will NOT fit a NA or RA Lancer.
We will need more pictures to ascertain quality of finish. The thumbnail is too small.

got it serviced in gladdy bought the car in toowong mitsubishi and asked for front and side body with evo spoiler and ended up getting all evo x STYLE body with spoiler not sure exactly where the dealer got it done at but its not a genuine part (aftermarket) ... having a little trouble with the side kit hitting the doors and trying to contact the guys who fitted it but i do want to get the evo hood but dont know where
