I believe that carbon fibre panels doors etc are illegal because a car with structural changes does not get ADR approved without crash testing. technically its not illegal it makes the car unroadworthy.

The latest Audi S5 will not be imported into Australia as it has carbon fibre guards and the company is not prepared to pay to crash test one to pass Australian design rules.

Personally if you want one have it painted for stealth.

yeah but the legality issue here (i think) is the fact they shatter on impact rather than crumple. the shards then have higher risk to bystanders

Nope the legality is they haven't been past crash testing, cars with carbon fibre panels such as BMW M3 which has a carbon fibre roof are ADR compliant.

we've already covered that CF parts are LEGAL as long as u get it passed by an engineer with a certificat

its not just a simple certificate from your engineer.
You engineer has to prove that the carbon fiber replacement is the equivalent or better then the orig part
Only way to do that is crash testing the intire car multiple times
