Carbon Fibre Bonnet from MU Secret

Postby Yeti » Thu Apr 14, 2011 4:16 pm

Hi all,

Just want to know if anyone has heard of MU Secret at South Strathfield in NSW.

I am thinking about how this CF bonnet might look on my white VRX...

http://www.musecret.com.au/prod1179.htm

I have checked other threads about CF bonnets and the talk about legal vs. illegal.

The one above from MU Secret is a fibreglass bonnet wrapped in CF, so from what I understand it should be legal.

Any thoughts / feedback?

Simon

Heard of MU secret, they seem to be pretty good all in all, as for legality im pretty sure fibreglass is still illegal cause it shatters on impact.

You could just get an aluminium one from a ralliart and carbon fiber vinyl wrap it?

Bear in mind that price probably doesn't include the vents, heatshields and liner. So will come to closer to what we pay here once you factor postage.

ouch if i read that correctly they'd like a further $1300 to deliver 2 to brisbane airport, then pay customs fee and or tax if applicable?
what did you read?

would then be cheaper to buy from mitsu here in oz

It's not so much legal vs. illegal but the fact it attracts attention to other things which could be a defect.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't non ADR approved mods can be grounds for insurance companies to not pay up in case of a claim? Or is that only the case if you haven't told them about the mods?

yeap , the insurance are able to void your claim if they find any unroadworthy mods on your car during accident

If it's a daily driver , don't think about getting a CF hood , stick with OEM and do something else with that money. If your brave and really wanna rock a CF hood , i'd recommend going aftermarket , something that doesn't look like the OEM hood

i personally would get the varis or c-west carbon hood if i'm game
