I realise the car is not yet condemned with a full replacement offered.

However, if it is, which would be a better result for Mike than to fix IMHO, I think it'd be good if we ask his insurance how much they want for the car rather than selling it to the Wreckers. Offer the same amount as the wreckers.

Then we can begin to strip the car down.
You'd be surprised what value the car holds.
I would then price the items on the same mark down % the insurer marks it down from its original sale price. We can get the original sale price of the items and parts from PMR then use the same percentage discounting to on sell the parts.

I think Mike might even be able to turn in a profit while saving alot of fellow members money on upgrades. The carcass of the car's shell can then go to scrap metal and get money from it or if doors and the like are still on, you can sell it back to the wrecker.
Swap where possible to retain the car in its shape.

If the car goes to the wrecker, he will then mark up the price again and on sell to people or companies who will mark it up again.
So rather we nick it prior to that happening.

After I see a picture of the damaged car, I could probably tell you the parts which you can go after.

If I was in WA, I could strip the car for you easily. *sigh*

Its good to hear your alright though. If you dont want blue again, either Red or White, id go Red IMO.

p.s. If the car does happen to be a write off, i shotty the tail lights (if there the black ones) and some other trim pieces inside the car :D

That looks like only minor damage.

I suspect you will need new bonnet, front guards, bumper, radiators and radiator supports.

It does not look like any major structural damage to the shell so it will be repaired.

I would think quotes for less then $10K to fix all the damage.

There is no way that car will be a write off for parts.

What you can't see is the smell and sounds.

The power steering does not work at all and the knocking underbonnet is bad.

Also, remember that the whole car will be repainted to colour match the new parts...

I'd have to agree, it doesnt look like anything major has been damaged and will probably be repaired.

Regardless, the chance of it being a writeoff will be small i think.

It all depends on whats happened under bonnet i guess... like i say, I know the steering is gone...

Can't figure out what the knocking sound is...
