Has anyone got/had these?

Postby bunnishiwa » Sun Feb 20, 2011 3:48 pm

Was walking though a carpark n saw a nice red Lancer with some natty BBS wheels, and what I believe are Brembo caliper 'covers', like these

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RED-Brembo-Look- ... 3cb01b196b

Does anyone have any experience of these, as they looked pretty good, and for the time etc to spend painting them, I'd rather get something like this if they're ok

But then you'll have normal little boring rotors and giant track calipers :?

I think its a bad idea.

Paint your calipers yes *not because i've done it* but don't try and pass off your non brembos for brembos.

You don't need Brembos to stop a NA Lancer.

Appreciate the comments - they did look ok though.

What about covers in general? Like, without Brembo on them?

From a performance point of view, these covers could stop your calipers breathing.

It is your car though, so your decision :)

another note, i actually have a set sitting in my garage that i was gona put on my old car, i looked at putting them on the Lancer, but you can still see parts of the caliper, so to make it look "good" you would need to paint the caliper, so why not just paint the caliper anyway

You will look like a massive tool if you fit them.

I say, if you think it looks cool go for it! its cheap, if u dont like it, take it off.. :)

Similarly, Ppl put Type R badges on non Type R cars, GTR on Non-GTR cars, RA bages on Non RA cars.

I considered it before. and decided, Nop!
end up painting mine Gold. :)

Yep I was stupid enough to pay $50 for these at Auto Salon in Sydney this year. Got them home and had a good look at them and tried to fit them against my calipers. Thy are a poor fit and also decided that they look cheap and tacky and yes...I would look like a massive tool with these on. I'm gonna paint mine instead and look a little less of a tool :)

Happy to sell these to any potentials but will need to follow correct CCJ sales rules to do this.
