*SOLD* OEM Rockford Fosgate subwoofer+box (used)

Postby JaCe » Sun Dec 19, 2010 8:52 am

EDIT 14/06/2011: I have accepted a $10 holding deposit until the end of June. Will keep this thread here in case sale falls through.

Hi all, I am selling my factory subwoofer and box which was included in my 2008 Mitsubishi Evolution X MR. This is inclusive of the subwoofer box which is designed to fit into the CJ's boot/shape, as well as the subwoofer inside.

ITEM: OEM Rockford Fosgate subwoofer + box

LOCATION: Hills District, Sydney (but able to be picked up from CBD)

ITEM CONDITION: Used for <6 months

REASON FOR SELLING: Upgraded to a full custom fabrication install about a year and a bit ago in my Evo X MR. Refer to my thread: http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?t=2534 . Only now have I been bothered to get round to selling it as it sits here taking up space.

PRICE AND PAYMENT CONDITIONS: $180 ONO. PICK UP ONLY. Happy to meet in Hills District, Thornleigh Maccas, or depending on mutual agreement, the Sydney CBD.

$10 non-refundable holding deposit is required as I don't want to get stuck with a no show (has happened a few times now).

SHIPPING AND POSTAL ARRANGEMENTS: Pick-up only.

EXTRA INFO: Note that whilst there are cables connected to the sub, there appears to be a proprietary connector on the end (designed for use with the RF amplifier) which you will need to modify or play around with to use. On the other hand, if you are only buying this to get the box which many other people (including some on CCJ) have modified with aftermarket subwoofers/dynomat on the inside, then this is a great value box since it's already been custom designed to fit the CJ boot! If unsure, ask in this thread or search the CCJ forums.

CONTACT INFO: PM me here or post in this thread so I can get a timestamp.

(happy to upload more if people want to see specific parts/sections)

Note: I do not have any photos of the subwoofer sitting flush in the boot as I have already taken it out of my car and replaced it with an aftermarket custom install. This should look the same as the accessories brochure pictures.

I'd rather avoid posting it but if you're really interested I'll try to find out how much it'll cost. The box and sub is actually pretty heavy and it's not an easy shape to fit into a box (i.e. it has inbuilt mounting brackets which stick out/don't move).

if i can't get any local sales within the next week or so, i'll try to find out how much shipping will be interstate/etc. i don't really have a use for it but i am concerned that the damn thing will be expensive to ship since it's quite heavy and oddly shaped.

I'll see if I can find a box which can hold the subwoofer and get the measurements for it ASAP. The other thing I'd be concerned about is if I put it inside a box, what's to stop it falling through the box so I'd need to seal it up pretty tight.

ps. Thanks for the offer Nathan- I'll see if I can find my own way first but will come back to you if I can't!

I do happen to live around there, and would love to have it... but apparently, according to my wife, the baby pram takes priority in the boot than a sub...

For what it's worth, the factory subwoofer actually fits snugly into the left side of the boot hence making it a very effective way of fitting a subwoofer whilst maintaining boot space!

Just thought I'd bump in response to PM's- yes it's still available because I never got round to figuring out how to ship it (apologies for my laziness as I've been quite busy with work).

Have a look at www.transdirect.com.au for shipping.

They are very reasonable.

I shipped a VRX spoiler from Sydney to Melbourne for about $40.

It can be connected to any of the Lancers, but you require the RF Amp for it to function.

Would not be best idea Pete as the two subs would be facing each other face to face, a big no no as they would interfere with each other. if you angled the boxes a little all is good.
