What's the next lancer model after CJ

Postby AshOz85 » Tue Feb 01, 2011 8:01 am

Morning all,

I was pondering this last night when i was working out my possible next car purchase (wont be for another 3 years i think) and was wondering if there is any info about the next gen lancer model after the CJ.

From my thoughts it seems car manufacturers usually release a new model every 4-5 years or so, and I figured the CJ will be close to that by 2012.

Thoughts or comments?

I did find this link

They probably will keep the same platform/body with just some plastics and lights remodelling.

So what you see in that pic is probably close to what the next model will look like.

I'm not too keen on that side stripe thing, the front middle bar seems too thick now.

Otherwise everything else looks fine, I like the headlights gives a meaner look. If hood vents were a bit bigger or longer, or even like the evo x I think it would look better.

This looks more like a Luxury Saloon model that Mitsubishi may consider releasing to run along with other marques.

Personally -- I don't like at all, to far altered from what the Lancer concept portraits today.

However this is more in keeping with tradition.
Bring it on sooner than later, I'd be tempted to trade-up.

The lancer is a budget car, they won't forget that in the finished product.

I thought 2012 was a facelift, not a new series? Seeing as there hasn't been a single facelift so far.

And if thats the direction evos take, fair enough. But... That concept looks stupid. Its not as bad as the mazda smiley face but it looks like a grumpy cartoon fish to me...

As far as I can tell, the CJ Lancer design has helped revive interest in Mitsubishi. I have a feeling they might try to retain the look in the next generation, despite possibly having a full redesign of the platform. This would be similar to the FG Falcon resembling the popular BA/BF one.

That Evo XI concept looks pretty awesome.

I think that is probably a Galant replacement to be honest since it was missed in this series of the mitsu model range
