I'm waiting on delivery of my new baby at the moment (effect grey my11 aspire) and I was planning on debadging him straight away ( love the clean look).
I got sucker punched into getting paint protection (was going to do it aftermarket as I park on the street), but am a bit worried now as the badge areas wouldn't be protected and I would prob void the paint protection warranty.
I've asked my dealer if they can factory debadge, but am not holding my breath - last time I bought a new car (in the 90's) they were happy to debadge the model but not the make...
Any suggestions on what to do if they won't ?
Cheers

Factory debadge? Paint protection issue?

With the debaging, i think Mitsubishi don't put on the badges until the car arrives in Australia, as the model names are differant to where the car is made. I could be wrong no harm asking. I'm tempted to de badge my car as well, as i did not get the paint protection done.
Hope it works out or you and congrats on your purchase.

Just ask they to hold back with the Paint Protection for a day.
Take the Aspire home, Steal your wife's hair-dryer, and warm-up the badges, this will cause the double sided tape under them to soften.
While the Badge is fairly warm, place your fingernail under an edge or corner and lift off.

With the paint protection, with my dealer at least, they wanted me to sign up for it on the day of buying but I didn't need to do it straight away. The dealer didn't do those sort of things in-house, and usually it was a third party who gets contracted to do it.
In that sense, I don't see why they can't delay the application.
With regards to removing the "make" badge as well, you might want to check out the other threads on here before you do it. I reckon removing the "Lancer" and model badge are OK, but removing the diamond badge is a bit excessive.

Ooh yeah I am keeping the diamonds, after all diamonds are a girls best friend aren't they?
Just getting rid of lancer and aspire. I'll do the hairdryer method if they won't do it for me, might wait and see what they say, poor dealer has been bombarded with emails from me since I signed lol.
Oh, and no, I don't have a wife just a bubba
