Carbon Fibre Wrap

Postby Andrew » Mon Jan 10, 2011 9:05 pm

Hello all,

Im sorry but i had to make a new topic about this.

Looking to put on an XDC style body kit (including evo x spoiler) for my black es

Now.... i dont particularly want it painted as i feel black cars dont show details in body work, so i think it would fade into insignificance

Peoples opinions oh how a body kit wrapped in CF would look on a black car?

Thanks!

Carbon Fibre wrap

Hard to say on a black car how will look? Guess will see the shading different. Take a look at my Garage will see what parts on the exterior on a silver lancer look like to give an idea. Use that as sort of a gauge. Just got try picture it in the end as up to you what look you want. Believe me took me awhile get where I am. :)

Yeah thanks for the quick reply there mate

I'm really excited about the idea and the hastles it will save me instead of getting it painted etc

But.. the thing is will i dont think it will stand out too much cuz the wrap on yours and what im looking at is pretty dark as it is

I may just go for it, where did you get yours from?

I know its not exactly the same, but there are a heap of CF parts for the EVO which I know there are pictures of on the net so maybe look at black EVO's with CF parts for an idea? (now that I want one I can't find one to post, but I know they are out there :))

To be honest unless you're going for a full CF converted part, I don't think wrapping parts in CF is necessary for those in Black cars.

Look at the effect of the CF wrap on my GREY lancer Vs the effect it has for Skorps on a Silver lancer. More contrast on the Silver makes it stand out. Mine is quite diluted and it will be diluted even further on a Black lancer.

Yeah thats true

So are you suggesting go for it? cuz its not going to stand out and be ugly but will be subtle and beautiful? :P

It will be cheaper than painting obviously which is my main concern because then ill have to pay for it to be put on.. unless someone around syndey area would be able to help :D

Thanks ofey

If you think that wrapping complex shapes is going to be "less hassle" than painting, then I'd have a guess that you've never wrapped something in vinyl before :P That said, I think go for dude :)
