Scratched silver section of dash above glove box

Postby AshOz85 » Sat Jan 08, 2011 1:19 pm

Hey peeps,

Positive and negative moment today. Positive in that I have recieved all my sweet x factor design body parts. But negative in the way that due to DHL courier company fibbing about leaving calling cards in relation to attempted delivery of packages I had to pick my gear up and attempt to fit it in my car myself.

This has left a kinda scratch / rubbing mark on the silver section of my dash just above the glove box. Ive attempted to use pine o clean and and armourall to no avail. I have attached a pic of what I am talking about, in a desperate attempt to see if anyone else has had an issue like this and has found a way to remove the marks.

The thing is the rubbing was from the bubble wrap around the packing box, and Im completely suprised that bubble wrap could do this.

Anyways heres the link to the pic: http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb4 ... /photo.jpg

Thanks guys and gals for any help you can offer a somewhat upset me :)

Paint the whole thing, vinyl it, or get a new one :P

Something in my mind is telling me its about $90 for that piece and the little one on the driver's side but that could be totally wrong. :?

Na sand it back, the satin effect looks really nice. Put some clear coat on and you have something no one else does. Cant remember if that was for the chrome grille surrounds or the dash inserts. It was one of them, light sand (no less than 800grit) and wipe it all off and it comes out really nice.

Its no big deal, its a chance to try something new.
