I know a lot of people have said that toyotas do go forever and they are right in saying that, however wouldnt the same rule apply with Mitsubishi as they are a japanese sourced manufacturer as well??

I really do like the new falcon and commodore design and I believe that branding them as 'bogan' cars is not the most fair, but hey the world is built on stereotypes.

A lot of them are bogans though. Or even if they don't act like bogans they just buy one because they feel its a man's car and have no imagination.
And then women buy them because they want to feel as important/capable as men when on the road (not saying they aren't, just saying they're a first choice when a girl doesn't want a 'girl's car').
Sorry, I know stereotyping is bad, but its mostly true for falcondores.

And don't get me started on getz's. They've been replaced by the i20 I believe and yet hyundai still make both, and people still buy them, simply because they're cheap and everywhere (why not buy a second hand getz instead of a new one? They're all the bloody same).

And ofey, I seem to recall you recommending a mazda 3 over a lancer to someone asking for advice on the forum not long ago :P

1mil cars sold in AU in the last year, just over 1/3 of those are the top 10 cars. Not everyone that buys cars are private buyers. It would be interesting to see how many of those cars were fleet purchases.

1. Commodore. The bulk of companies this is their main car. Taxi's, police and more are big on them
2. Corolla. Same as above. Health industry main vehicle of choice. RDN main fleet are Corolla's. Corolla is also the car of choice for driving schools.
3. Hilux. Fleet car of choice for any industry.

Toyota have a massive brand awareness and their cars appeal to all buyers. Safe styling, well built, very reliable and easy on the pocket. Holden, boguns will sell their left nut for one. When a bogun pops out of the womb, you can predict they will go straight for the SS.

Considering what has happened to Mitsubishi in the last 5-8years, them having a car in the top 10 annual sales is a huge thing for them. They got a lot of heat out of pulling out of AU manufacturing and to turn the profit around is a big acheivement for them. Its also an indication they are getting the product right.

I was considering a commodore, either an omega or sv6 but just had an uncontrollable attraction towards lancers instead.

Luckily also as now that i've been driving for a few years i've come to realise stereotypes are real. Besides the one or two rice-mobiles drag racing, the bulk of street idiots i have come across have been either commos or falcodores.

(Usually stuffed with teenage males, not gay at all)

My street has about 6 commodores and 3 falcons... Monkey see monkey do

All i know is that my little finger is getting tired from all the waving its been doing.

OHH and also the other day a commodore wagon stole my parking spot. First time i've ever come across this :P yeah i yelled something fierce at the porky boy

P.s today I saw a raised commodore that could barely stay in its lane and then ran a red light.

And another, with a passenger that spat out the window and very nearly hit my car.

And not long ago I told people about a falcon driver that gave me the finger for zero reason (with a huge falcon sticker on the window, and it wasn't even a good or fast model).

one of the reasons i went for the lancer is that there isn't that many of it on the road compared to if i chose a corolla, a civic, or a 3...

i wanted to be a little bit different on the road and the lancer offers that the most among the choices i had with the budget i have.. and it would always be a japanese car for me... having owned a Nissan Sentra (box type), a 96 Corolla , and a Mazda 323...

so it's a Lancer this time for me... and having the feeling of being a bit different on the road was a factor... ofcourse i also happen to think that the cj is the best looking Lancer of all time... ofcourse that is just my opinion.

no way i want lancers to be the most popular, as some of u said, lancers are for discerning buyers, not lemmings :)

Ha something fierce at him  Was he shaking and crying afterwards?

Every time I see two males of bogun variety in a ute together I dont why but I always think that after the game, half the slab in them both and emotions running high they next turn to tender moments in the back of the ute with each other. Either that or an MM session. Someone said to me once 'its not gay if its with your mate'. I think it was my friends girlfriend about her ex...

If you notice, most cars involved in crashes are Commodores and Falcons. Maybe instead of nany-fying the country; why not ban boguns from driving them? Road toll may even go down, Holden might go out of business as the boguns cant drive their cars and Ford will probably import.

If only I was prime minister... God help everyone
