Look under Evo, there is a genuine mitsu one in there.
Otherwise call mitsubishi parts/service, and not the dealership itself. They will be able to order them as a replacement part.
if you get a north america or japanese mount, just drill your aussie plate to suit.
The 3rd gen Mazda MX5 standard mount is Japanese sizing, looks much better if you cut the mount to suit an Aussie plate (in particular the slim line plates) and re-fix with new holes. Yep..the standard japanese mount will be too large, so ideally cut to suit.
The stickers look like an elegant solution. You can buy stick ons in the UK for cars like the MX5, Lotuses, E-type Jags, etc... ones to stick to bumper. They advertise in the UK "Auto Trader" type magazines.
Not sure about legality.

I think all positions shown or discussed are rubbish. I hate the middle. The side is crap unless you have it on both sides which would still look like crap. All the details are on the Rego sticker that should be enough, there is no need for us to clutter up the fronts of our cars.

True Speedie,
in NSW they have number recognition cameras now.
i have seen a few around lately.
the car looks awesome with NO plate....
i know that in some states in the US they dont have to have them on the front.
BeHaV3 has made up a black plate cover, for when he takes pics of his Blue Ralliart. this looks good!
just make one, forget about it !!!! and leave it on lol...
BeHaV3 did!! and i followed him driving around town for half an hour with these things covering his plates.....funny as.

not entirely sure if we can in australia. all the evo's from the dealer have them front mounted if i remember correctly. but i'd definately mount mine on the side if it was ok to do it.

mitsu oz decided to put the plate in the middle this time as the past evo owners had too much problem with police pulling them over for having mounted on the side..
i remember reading someone say (i think over at mitsubishiclubaustralia forums), that theres an actual science to whether side mounted is legal or not, depending on angles or some thing like that.. this person then went on to say that the current lancers dont fit the bill, but i have no idea of the accuracy of this statement. Hopefully someone will check it out and find a definative answer for everyone. haha
