EOI - Car Rally / Treasure Hunt in SE QLD

Postby casper28 » Sat Dec 18, 2010 8:07 am

Hi all,

I did one of these years ago, and it was a lot of fun. I am thinking about organising one over the Xmas break, and maybe in the New Year we could do it for one of our monthly cruises....

Maybe we could invite those XR5 boys along as well, and/or the Magna club.

Thoughts/suggestions...

HAHA good idea Cass MiztaB and myself were talking about starting of these for ClubCJ on our way back from Melb. I actually think it may be a great idea to involve other clubs abit of a friendly rivalry.

OK then
For the newbies it goes something like this:
A pre determined start/meet point
A list of questions and maps are handed out containing various landmarks or features that need to be spotted then an answer relating to these marked down, also bonus questions if you are ahead of time for that section. Each meeting point has a designated meet time
At various meet points BONUS point envelopes are hidden, hence the treasure seeking side of things
Various items also need to be found if possible and handed in for more point allocations EG a business card or a certain type of feather or a $2 item from supercheap that sort of thing
Points are awarded for every correct answer and at the End meet point tallied up for a 1st 2nd 3rd place and a wooden spooner
Prizes are awarded accordingly then a BBQ to round off a really fun day!
Excellent and full on day, also known as an "Oservation Rally"
Regards Chris.

good to be back.

so if its a treasure hunt whose gonna hide all the stuff before hand and hopes it doesn't get found by someone else that's not actually part of the game?.

what about stuff like. having to find a cashe (more then one cashe). that full of stuff that each player has to find the cashe needs to take something from each cashe and return it, first person to return with all items. wins? of course it will be is a large scale, so it will take a wile by car to complete the entire thing.

or could even have people take pics of certain things, ie certain road sign or something to prove they found the check point. Then at the end cameras are checked to find a winner.

that would be better as you don't have the risk of someone else taking the stuff. but it would need to be something that's not down right obvious to find tho. something off the road, say like in a park, or shopping center or some other place.
