see this is annoying now - this is what they did with the cc lancer and then the proton m21 was the best one you could get apart from the gsr/evo

if they bring out a 4x4 turbo model im gana be so pissed off because its just gana kill the price of the ralliart.

Relax boys most likely it wont come here. Your CJ's (all of them) are safe... For now :lol: Good for laughs when it does come here, RSPCA will have to put on extra staff; so many kittens running around :lol:

Dont like the radio unit; that thing is just asking to be stolen. I like the integrated look the Lancer has. Rear diffuser dont actually think it is one. It may be black but its not a diffuser. More like an unpainted rear lip aka Golf mk5 and the like. Unpainted lower bumper skirt so no paintwork chips from driving.

I don't understand what the problem is. Years ago (probably before some of you were born) Ford brought out the Laser which was the Mazda 323, Telstar/626, nissian ute that was a Ford. Holden use Toyota. Mitsubishi went alone ans almost went bankrupt. This went on for years and companies still do this to this day (most Holdens are Daywoos). It was called badge engineering. The advantage is you can get more and cheaper accessories. I remember it was cheaper to buy parts from Mazda than Ford, so I hope Proton do bring it to Australia. That way Mitsubishi will either lower prices or we will have an alternate.

yeah but see if they bring out a ralliart model then the price of our cars is going to go down by heaps
the way i see it in another 2/3 years the price of a ra in good condition should still be in the mid to high $20k mark
if this thing comes out expect it to be in the high $10k mark.

ill probably have to pay the bank out to get rid of my loan rarther then just come out even.

I'd probably be interested in one if it was about $3k less and retained the same safety and other features. A smaller 1.8L engine shouldn't be too problematic either.

I have to admit, the front is ugly. The whole shark face is lost, which I reckon is one of the best visual features on the lancer

I can't believe Mitsu allowed Proton to rebadge a current car unlike before when it was an already superseded model. Now they're even gonna make "The Fake Ralliart."

I don't understand why everyone gets so upset about Proton using the same platform as the lancer.

VW do it, so do Audi, Ferrari, Ford, Mazda, Volvo and so on and so on.... Heaps of companies have commercial relationships with other brands, as well as falling under the same corporate owners.

I agree with shane, christ at one point a few years back the same climate control panel was used in a skoda, VW, Audi and Lambo at the same time.

This type of thing goes on all the time;

- outlander -> 4007
- Izusu D-Max - Colorado
- Toyota camry -> holden apollo
- Holden commo -> toyota lexan
- Mazda 323 -> ford laser

and so

it makes good business practice, why sell a little on your own when you can also sell to your market competitors also

In the case of the Outlander, Peugeot is quite on the same level, so that's alright. But Proton is not an equal to the likes of Hyundai or Kia, let alone Mitsubishi. I don't mind sharing the chassis but they ought to design their own body.
