I seriously hope they make it purely for entertainment reasons :) Make the little Proton Evo then sit back and let the entertainment unfold as the Evo purists create

Its really not that bad; except they went mad happy with the matt black and the flared rear quarter panel/front guards look like a botched lip filler job its fine. Think it would work better if it wasnt wide bodied or if they have the flared wheel arches similar to the old Satria GTI as a throwback to their design lineage to keep it more Proton like.

I still reckon it's nothing more than a design concept. The serious modders over there will no doubtedly chuck a 4B11T into the Inspira and slap on all the go-fast bits from various other cars onto it. Those little Wiralutions/Wajalutions can be damn fast and some sport some very exotic parts (e.g. genuine Porsche ceramics!).

I don't understand why Mitsu agreed to have Proton rebadge a current model Lancer. I wouldn't have minded if they were doing it to a previous generation car such as the CH. For me this scheme is degrading to our cars (makes me want to lean towards the Polo GTi even more now). And I thought it's funny that Nissans are sold in Korea as Samsungs. Now the joke's on us.

I honestly dont see what the big deal is; so what they have our current Lancer. So what they have made their own version of an Evo. Its the same thing with the Outlanders and Peugot. Or does the word Proton leave a dirty taste in peoples mouths??

At the end of the day this is business. Both Proton and Mitsubishi do what they have to do to keep their brands going. Or is it just fear that Proton may come out with a better product than what Mitsubishi did?

One thing Proton has that Mitsubishi dont is Lotus...

We better watch out for all the GENUINE JDM fan boys on other forums.... the ones that say anyone who buys a "copy" or non genuine product is an idiot. Seriously the debate over copies could go on for many generations. Without someone copying a product of someone else, it would not give the other company which made the original any incentive to strive to make something better. I hate everyone who says shit to me about buying 'aftermarket' or 'copy' items. It's your car, you can buy whatever the hell you want for it. There is no rules saying what you can and cannot buy. I like the idea of this car, I just think they went a little crazy with the body styling trying to make it different but trying to stay close to what the Ralliart looks like. Isn't is more a ralliart than a Evo anyways? Its strange bolt on wide body thing...? :S no brembos, smaller turbo as on the ralliart and its auto?

Sorry for my little rant about copy's :P

God bless the dick whipped fanboys that wouldnt know what day it is... Fanboys are a source of never ending entertainment. Its almost effortless in setting them off; they do more than just have kittens. You know when you have got them when they start using Internet Emo language; all basic English comprehension and motor skills out the window and in comes half the alphabet and words joined together and everything.

All fanboys need is a good slapping. Or a tazer. Both would be better.

---

Fanboys aside; that Proton thingy would look a lot better if it wasnt wide bodied. Take off all the happy times with the matt black vinyl and its a pretty good effort from them to make their version of the Lancer look nothing like the original.
