Best place to pick ignition power from for DIY DRL's

Postby lukeaday » Fri Dec 03, 2010 7:01 am

I am playing around with some DIY DRL's.
I have a normally open relay so that when the headlights come on the DRL's turn off.
I have everything sorted except for finding the best place to pick power from.
I took the steering column cover off and found a light blue wire going to the ignition which looks like a goer for taping into. I was planing to perhaps splice a wire off this into a small after market fuse box for future add ons.

Also thought of the wiper squirter pump power wire.

Is this the go or is there a better spot.

I agree on the choice. The water squirter pump would be ideal... .

I just used my cigarette lighter power and ran a wire to the front.

I used one of the ecu fuses in the engine bay so after the car is turned off you have about 10 secs of light before they turn off.
