No DIY has been done. Fairly basic, might post it up if I can be bothered and remember to take photos.

- clean grille surround with wax/grease remover
- prime the grille surround (2-3 coats)
- sand primer smooth
- clean with wax/grease remover
- paint in desired colour (2-3 coats)
- finish with a few clear coats [using acrylic lacquer]

well short of breaking it. you can just sand it back and start again. (also helps that I have a spare to swap onto the car for said occasion)

That looks pretty interesting.

Would want to try it, but I suck at those sort of DIY things so I better not :P

if you have any questions, let me know.

for first time, I would probably caution just a few things:

- be patient
- be ready before you start
- (practically speaking) don't overspray, go slow

if there's anything else, PM me and we can chat about how to go about it.

if you're willing to give it an afternoon/overnight to do it, you'll have a new grille surround by the next morning. :)

looks pretty cool! what kind of paints are used, and generally where could you buy these from?

Just automotive acrylic paint and don't forget the clear coats.
