Might be time for me to say Goodbye..

Postby tadz0rz » Tue Nov 16, 2010 9:23 pm

G'day all..

Over the past few weeks many of you probley have noticed I havent been as active on the forums as I used to be. There are many reasons for that, some deeper than others but we'll leave that for another time. Over the past few weeks I've been considering trading in the Lancer for something bigger. I know I'll probley cop a sh**storm from all of you about it, but its what im after now.

Im looking at trading in the lancer and getting a BA XR6. I know, 'hoon car'. If I actually go ahead with it, its going to be nothing like the Lancer, I've wanted a cruising car for a while and now might be the time.

Before you all go rar rar rar dont trade it for the lancer, you'll be downgrading so on and so forth, its what I want to do. I feel something like the falcon would be better for me in the long run.

Its been an amazing journey watching ClubCJ grow and flourish, I've made many great friends on this forum who I'll never forget. I've recieved so much support during my stay at ClubCJ, much more than I could have ever anticipated. Especially when my car was involved in an accident and members were willing to donate money to help me pay for the repairs. That really meant alot to me.

So a big shout out goes to Irving, Grant, Adrian, Mattigins, Ral1rt, Goran, Nick + the boys at PMR, Mizta B and everyone else who has made my stay at ClubCJ so much more enjoyable. I hope to stay in contact with all of you because many of you have become very close friends of mine.

Ill still be hanging around the forums of course, You wont be getting rid of me, even though I havent been posting much lately, ive been on the forums every single day checking out the latest news.

So before I part, I have one final question for you all...

My car is going to be sold as is, a new set of tires will be put on before it is sold aswell. The car has done 47,000kms and will also be fully serviced before sold.

I was thinking somewhere between the 16-19k mark for it...This car is basicly kitted up as a PMR VRX. Is this a resonable sort of figure?

Thanks Everyone!!

I'm in shock atm.

For a long time I've considered you the No.2 VIC member here. I had always thought your social life just took precedence. Having your gf always takes precedence.

I don't know much about Fords but I'm sure Goran will elucidate on that front in due course. It looks like a real beast of a car but I guess you must like it that much to consider the change, considering how much you love your Lancer. So I'm sure it's NOT a decision you've taken lightly. I too know what it feels. I've always said 2013 is when I want the 2nd car. And it's been so hard to find a mark up for me on our Lancer with all its features. I'm glad you found something you can replace your Blue Monster with.

I do hope you keep your promise of hanging around the forums and also attending the odd cruise. Your fuel bill will blow out with this new car but you will be compelled still to cruise with us I hope.

I'm deeply saddened that you're leaving before your time I think. But you will leave us with a great amount of memories and respect for all your contributions... .

The one im currently looking at runs on dual fuel so that should save me some money there.

Im still in deliberations at the moment, Ive gone through a few of these times before (wanting to sell the lancer) but this seems a little different. Nothing is 100% at the moment, but parting with the lancer will be very hard for me...Honestly I know it sounds stupid but it will be a very emotional day if I fully go through with parting with my car. Its like my own child really haha.

Be sad to see you sell it off Michael - it's a fantastic car!

But if you are stilling hanging around like a bad smell :P - at least that's the main bit for the VIC members :)

You should have seen me letting go of my first car LOL... distraught doesn't cut it LOL...

Good luck with the decision to trade-off!

You should just keep it for 5 yrs and save for something cool! =)

Fords and holden's suck!!! JDM rocks!!

Ford/Holden mostly for angry bogans that don't know how to indicate!! =)

If you love it so much why sell???? Besides, Ford XR-6 looks lame!!! :D

Can't you be a little more creative than an xr6? :P

But they are a good car.

Don't stay on the same car if you don't want to. Its better to have lots of cars. More memories that way.

Best of luck with what you decide :)

Best of luck Tadz, that's about all I can say.

I like all cars to be honest and I would have gone a ford XR myself except they are just TOO big for what I need in a car. I wouldn't mind an RS Focus if I could get one...

For the record...... Aussie Fords are for angry bogans, but most of them drive Holdens anyway lol. Euro Fords are the way to go :)

Best of luck Michael.

I know what it was like for me when I was your age. Always looking for new challengers. I am sure you will succeed in any thing you put your mind too.

Not sure how much your car is worth. Some one will full in love with it.

Tadz I had about 6 BA/BAII XR6 and/or Fairmonts through a previous employer between 2003 and 2004.

They are good cars. Before the BA the XR 6 got the tricked up engine, but from BA onwards they were the same as the basic Falcon - all they got was the bodykit and different wheels (be concsious of that with pricing - maybe you can buy a lower spec and turn it more into what you want).

Watch the fuel (gas will help but they still chew through it) and watch out for a massive clunk as it goes into gear when leaving park (if it's an auto) as that can be trouble.

Look for one with under 120,000km if budget allows and get a BF if possible - marked inprovement in engine refinement and fuel usage over the BAs.

Good luck and if you get one, show us some photos.

if he wants to get the second ultimate bogan car (beaten only by como's) then it cant do much worse.

On the other hand lexus IS200's are getting cheap as well as older Audi's and that.

The lancer is faster then an XR6 anyways, and has more room inside (my mate has 1) so I have no idea why he wants to do it.
