Cruise to TAS in 2011!! That place is only good for a weekend so many people say and plenty of great driving roads. Put all the cars on the boat and try to lap the island.
GOR, depends if you go the full length. It would be more than 6hours though. That road is tourist heavy, many places you have the 100k limit but get stuck behind Basil and Mavis in their patriotic Camry and you can add another 10years to it. Just dont ever go through the Ottaway Ranges part of it at night; scares the crap out of you. If you get off the GOR and head further in and cut through some of the forest runs you hardly get any tourists.

In ACT you could park in the PM car spot and see how long it takes till your car gets towed. Whoever lasted the longest is the winner. Apart from that there are a few traffic lights here and there and thats about it...
Just realized what else is in ACT, the countries largest sex shop!! No wonder the cruise is there next year, everyones ran out of batteries

Like some guys have said.
GOR can be a bit of a bugger but if you bypass the surf beaches up to Lorne by travelling along the Highway towards Colac and head through Deans Marsh this will put you in at Lorne Where the 100km/h limits start for longer periods of time.
To give you an idea.
I am located in Melton AKA outer western burbs.
It takes me just under 2 hours to get to Lorne if I go to Warn Ponds first then turn left, cutting back in just before Anglesea.
It's about the same if I go through Deans Marsh but much more scenic and twisty!!!
From Lorne to Apollo Bay it takes another 45min. I have only headed out as far as AB but is have came back from Warnambool along the full length of the GOR and it takes over about 5 hours one way to get back to Melton.
