Ashtray Lid/Cover

Postby TeejayDeejay » Tue Nov 09, 2010 1:54 pm

Hey guys, when i bought my car it did'nt actually come with the ashtray lid/cover, i presume the previous owner had just taken it out for some reason. its not a huge issue, it just makes the interior look a bit empty. Mitsubishi quoted me $150 for the part, which didnt seem right :S ,

any idea's on where i could get the part?

heres a pic.

Thanks.

I guess the cheapest way would be to check out your local car wreckers and see if they've any CJ's.

You should ask Dan. He will look after you.

thanks for the comments guys :)

i dont think there are many wreckers in perth that carry CJ parts, but ill keep looking.

if i cant find anything, i might just purchase the part for $85

ofey, is that part just the ashtray lid itself, or are there other parts connected to it?

It's apparently the whole assembly that will fit into the void in your console. So its what you need... .

As ofey said, the part isnt a lid its a container kinda thing that slots in.
Red goes faster. MUCH faster.

Smoking in any car should not be allowed IMHO.

But better to have an ash tray to put the butts in then rather throw them out the window.

I still dont know why you cant hold the phone while driving but you can have a lit cigarette. A hot cigarette dropped between your legs must be distracting?

Well an ash tray would devalue the car I believe.

Just take it out or replace the centre console with another model like VRX.

yeah thats actually what i was thinking, it would be great to replace the whole centre console with that of an RX/Activ/VR so i would get the armrest/cup holder cover , but i hear its very costly and hard to do :S
