Hey Guys,
A mate has been looking at buying a Challenger, dealer called him during the week to say they are now clearing 2010 models in preparation for the arrival of 2011 models... On the Challenger this dropped it from the original price he was given about a month ago of 64k down to 50k!
So just wondered if anyone knows whether there are bonuses on the Lancers as well?? Am keen to pick up an Evo MR if there are deep discounts!

One option is to hunt for a second hand car with very low k's. A deceased estate MY09 VR went for $19k with 4100 on the clock. You just have to wait and hunt
I picked up a MY08 VR auto with 45k on the clock for 15k (perfectly straight, full service history one owner)
It took 3 months of searching and lots of visits to crap representations of "immaculate" listed cars

I feel it was considering the RRP is around 27-28K for driveaway. Mind you thats for a CVT Auto.
I got quoted $24000 drive away for the Active model (Auto). I paid and extra $1000 for a VR,for climate, auto lights and wipers. I think thats not too bad, although i must admit the VR's dont come with bluetooth as the Active does.

"Mine is a new model had 30kms on it when i purchased it. I prefer the Auto, couldnt handle a manual in sydney traffic would drive me nuts.
CVT gives me the option of driving it like a manual anyways, and i get sick of that after 5 mins,so i doubt i could handle a conventional manual."
I have also done this and agree the CVT is nice to have but in the Sydney traffic not a real plus - maybe on the dirt roads and rallying good fun?

Hmm, last year around this time when they were bringing in the new 2010 Lancers.. I managed to get a really good deal.
The VRs (manual) were going an advertised of $24,990. I got my VR for $22,500. Compare that to the actual driveaway price of usually $26k for other non-special times and an actual official driveaway price of $30k, I reckon you could get a good deal seeing how the 2011 models are coming in (and they do have quite a few revisions).

That's a top price Michael!! I bought my wife a VRX when they came out in '08 and it was a few k more than that (although optioned up, still think that's a good price).
I gave up for a while on a new car but thought I might get back into it, still some '10 cars around, although on carsales I watched one that was advertised at ~$66k go back up to $70k so dunno what's going on lol
