I think I have a new 'personal best' :\

Postby Graham » Sat Jul 24, 2010 3:40 am

Pulled over 3 times in one night! :(

So I went on a charity cruise yesterday (Friday night) and the meetpoint was City West carpark which was a bad idea from the start especially with the recent van story :P

Heading off to the first meetpoint is fine, we pass a few cops on the side of the road before the graham farmer fwy tunnel waiting for people speeding (thanks to the guy infront of me who slowed down :P ) but an undercover cop somehow gets behind me when we turn off from Orrong road and shortly after pulls me up..

He says he ran my plates and it says I don't have a license, but I show him my license and it's all good, but then he gives me a yellow sticker for blue parkers, which is fair enough, I was only meant to have them in a short while but just forgot to take them out  but either way I think he was going to sticker me..
One of my mates on the cruise pulls over on a side street and comes over to see what's going on and apparantly these two know each other from previous run-ins and it turns out the guy who pulled me over is second in charge of the WA Police (or Traffic police? unconfirmed), so either was I was down a certain creek without a paddle :P

I did have original parker globes in the car and offered to change them which would "save the officer the time and hassle of doing the paperwork" haha... yeah that didn't work :P

So I get the sticker, start driving again then not too long afterwards they pull me over again and grab the cruise map out of my car

2 more stops later I bail from the cruise, way too much cop trouble.

decide to go for a drive with a friend through the hills, not too long afterwards we see a cop car (I was behind him) and they brake and then put their indicator on... I high beamed my mate and indicated to pull over waiting for the cop to come and they weren't far behind :P

I get out and let them know that I already have a yellow sticker from about 2 hours ago and he checks the license and stuff again, still says i dont have a license when they run my plates which means a big red flashy thing appears saying to pull me over, lovely!
this cop was awesome though, we spent like 10 minutes talking about car stuff :)

and then we went for a nice drive through the hills, the end :P

I'll have to do a few things before taking it over the pits on Tuesday (if I can get the morning off work)

- Change parkers
- Remove HID's
- Clean up some wiring
- Move license plate to original spot
- Replace high beam globes, one is broken anyway..
- Replace all interior lights just to be safe
- maybe take off my front lip? it is a bit loose... should be fine though!

A bit of a hassle but oh well, it was bound to happen sooner or later.

Its really good to see plenty of police resources being used to nab the
"REAL" criminals like yourself eh Graham
Good luck with the pits.

Yeah! i saw sooo many cops out on the road or following the cruise, I think an evo 7 got pulled over doing way above the speedlimit too but I didn't hear the story about that, being a charity cruise he was being a bit of a tool apparantly so the cruise coordinator gave the police his plates and they must've kept an eye on him..

Next time I think I will stay home with KFC :P

I get it now :P

But seriously, horrible luck.

I like how your story is 'I got a yellow sticker and then kept going' :D

I see belmont forum in the pic. :D

Maybe it'd be worth a trip to the licensing centre next chance you get to see what's going on?

Yeah I got pulled over twice near belmont forum lol thats where the first meet was

I'll still be in mine, it's drivable for 10 days :P

Blake, my car is CVT and the boot covers the "P R N D" letters so it might be something they could be nazi about if they wanted to, I don't wanna take any risks of having to get it over the pits twice :(

Blah!

1.) removed front lip, the double sided tape was a pain in the ass.
2.)zip tied my guard to the bumper because it was loose, a weird noise going over small bumps during a hill climb was a bit freaky so that should fix that.
3.) moved number plate to the middle again, need to clean it up a bit where the mount was..
4.) all wiring in the engine bay is now hidden better and has that weird black plastic bumpy stuff on it
5.) changed HID's back to stock globes
6.) put passenger high beam back to stock (the bulb was blown anyway)
7.) removed a custom horn from my engine bay
8.) swapped out all painted engine bits with my mums car so it looks normal :P

still to come!

switch to stock parking lights
replace drivers high beam with OEM bulb
remove leather gear boot
re-stick down chrome moulding
polish & wax my car, for the hell of it, plus it's dirty :P
replace all the interior bulbs back to stock

and that should be all...

Any freebies? Haha.

This thread is the opposite to normal threads :P

Still looks good without the lip. You're going to damage it beyond repair one day

im honestly glad it was you behind me and not that copper haha i sped up to about 100 to catch ryan when you got pulled over :P that copper ended up following us all night and continued handing out yellow stickers. i managed to avoid getting one :D
the same copper followed us on the hamburger run last night too for fully automotive. only handed out 2 stickers though. that cruise was much more tame haha
i cant afford to be stickered due to an exhaust leak, iffy brakes and structural damage :P
so graham, thankyou haha and ill upload that pic soon-ish :)
