Not only P Platers.
Those from foreign contries with foreign license go straight to Full License after passing the test. I know cause I was one of those. But that is somewhat ok... cause we atleast took the test and we passed.
The worse ones are those with foreign licenses who are NOT permanent residents (working visas, student visas, etc)... they are not obliged to have an Australian License to drive.. they can keep on using their foreign license, so we have drivers on the road who hasn't even seen what an RTA office looks like.
If ever they are caught with a violation they will have to pay the fine and ofcourse the corresponding points will be putt on their record and will be deducted as demerit points ONCE they are oblige to get a license (after obtaining permanennt residency in Australia) and they pass the test and get one... but until that time they can keep accumulating one violation after another, no cancellation of license cause there is nothing to cancel.

A friend of mine just posted this on FB, it's the Mobile Speed Camera roster
http://media.dailytelegraph.com.au/file ... Sydney.htm
i know this was for last week but then it would definitely mean that there is an version somewhere that would be constantly updated which we could check if we want to on a week to week or daily basis depending or the need.
It will also give us maybe an idea on how to forecast future rosters, a trend will definitely develop. Based on this one my immediate area is safe, the closest one would be Car Number 6 near my home and Car Number 1 on our weekly visit to my in-laws.

Car No. 6 seems to like the Wollongong area (seems to like sticking to the most congested roads around here), so they aren't just doing the Sydney area. But I'd say they aren't looking at road safety at all, rather just the volume of traffic going through the area and how many unlucky people they are going to snap.
I guess eventually they might head out your way into woop woop.
Funniest thing is, the deadliest road around the S/W sydney-Wollongong region is Picton Rd but it's not on the list of areas for the cameras. Now try telling me this is all about safety....
