It was what i was going to buy until my wife relented and said 'just buy the damn evo!'

you snagged yourself a keeper there didn't you? lol :)

i agree completely with you there, and apart from money the main reason to have the RA is for everyday driveability which i believe to be fairly compromised in an evo.

but i can see myself upgrading (money permitting) one day purely for the better track performance.

i'm off to an all women motorkhana competition this weekend, looking forward to it. last winner drives a WRX... hope she's there again...hahaha, who says women aren't competitive as well? :P

edit: jake, i didn't see all those posts you're referring to, just the one big long rant that i responded to (with humour i might add, not malice). i guess some people don't know how to see the funny side, it's all far too serious. bugger that. i like being happy :)

Lol yeah I know. Some people get really worked up and start fights though.

Evo > Ralliart.
But Ralliart is likely more cost effective for straight-line times. Buts thats because 80% of the extra cost on an evo is for going around corners, and if driven properly it would obliterate a RA around a track.

Everyone gets it, yet everyone was still arguing, and some people were taking it very seriously.

I must've missed that thread :P

Everyone will always have different opinions (whoops I typed onions for some reason there, but I fixed it :P) on almost every topic and you cant expect everyone to agree, but if every post was deleted because it had a conflicting opinion and the post didn't break any rules that's a bit silly.

There would be alot less posts in the forum in that case

Hell yes i did!

While i would not use the word compromised (I have driven a couple of the older Evos... They were compromised to say the least! :P ) its definatley a harder and louder ride. A long road trip would be uncomfortable for sure.

You got it spot on Jake - I have seen some posts asking where the extra 20K goes in an avo over the RA...

Active Yaw control (AYC)
Mostly aluminium body with different guards on the quarters plus roof
Brembo brakes and rotors
Recaro seats
different chassis (50% stronger then the RA/lancer chassis)
redesigned engine bay
bigger turbo with forged internals
bigger wheels (rims and tires) - big name brands as well with MUCH better tyres - this should be fixed on the RA standard IMO
heavier and stiffer suspension set up with big name brands again

So yeah, its all about a track, not a straight line. Yeah the twin scroll turbo generates more boost and thus more power but the 20k difference would mean getting an RA equal too or more powerful then the evo is very acheivable. But it will never CORNER the silly way an evo can.
I have a 3 year old son who KNOWS i should drive faster! So why do i get fined?!?

Finished up my front grille neons (ie added a fuse) and put on my DRL strips but ran out of daylight so I'm wiring them up tomorrow (got the extra wires through the firewall though! omg what a chore).

My back hurts :P

I couldn't find anything to undo the bolts with (one of my grounding cables got ripped loose, bad spot) but it turns out... The crappy little tool kit I got with my collectors edition of NFS carbon years ago was perfect :P

I knew that investment would pay off :D Lol....
