Possibly the best Lancer error?

Other Mitsu gear boxes in the past have had problems if you don't run genuine ATF, so in reality I would say go genuine for your ATF. Every other fluid (ie, oil, coolant and brake fluid) would be fine to stick with decent non-OEM stuff.
Why anyone would take a CVT on the track beats me, it's hard enough treatment for a manual yet alone a CVT! But if you do plan on it again, look into getting a transmission fluid cooler fitted.
But yeah i would definitely be getting a ATf change and I'd also recommend draining the brake lines and replacing it with something decent (like Nulon Super Dot 4 fluid, ~$8/bottle, anything else dearer is overkill despite the fact some on hear will say get $50 HKS fluid )

I have a transmission cooler
Next time I might have to just wait longer in between runs on the track (coz I sure as hell don't wanna go any slower on the track! lol)
I'll probably call mitsu and see how much their gearbox oil costs..
hopefuly it isnt as expensive as GTR fluid!

heh, I got a bit of a laugh out of it too, I was pretty shocked when I saw it though
Mitsu sell a 5L of CVT transmission fluid for $40..
Or they want $200+ to flush the transmission and then replace it with the juice..
The CVT only holds 2L of fluid (according to the dealer)...
I might read into this and look at just doing a DIY replacement of fluid... Having not been flushed though there may be a little bit of leftover fluid, would this have any large negative effect?

Ohhh thanks for that info Adrian! It'll definitely come in handy
Looks like I'll have to buy 10L of fluid and keep some of it spare... I checked the ATF fluid and it still seems to be it's normal yellowish colour on a bit of towel paper but I'll probably replace it in the near future just to be safe
Maybe even just before or after my 45,000k service which is about 6000k's away..
