mmm. who is going to pay.

Surely the service station owner is liable. They need to check on their employees.

2 skimming ATM have been found in Adelaide in the last week.

Things are becoming bad.

Thanks for the warning.

how can they not get them they where workers of the petrol station? just get the owner to give the police all the names of the workers? then they just need one of the thousands of camera recordings to see the guys. like a petrol station can just spring up overnight. there is alot of legal things they would of needed to do to actually run a business.

Do you know if they run it through a special skimmer thing or if they just modified the card-reader?

Scary stuff.

Sucks to hear mate, hope it all gets sorted promptly.

A few tips I follow:

1. Swipe your own card if at all possible. If it is not possible keep a sharp eye on it.

2. Have a separate account linked to your card. Only transfer what you need across, then if you get skimmed, they can't take all your savings.

3. Always check on the screen of the EFTPOS machine that the dollar value is correct. It is displayed everytime, as required by law.

Banks are liable for it and will make good on this if you notify them asap.

That being said, my card did potentially get hit but then my bank (Citibank) blocked the card.
