argh my cold came back too! It was almost gone... must've picked it up again at a cruise last night :(

So anyway.... I put my new brakes in and wore them in for about 150km's then went to the cruise, got up to a mini hills run and I was at the front going for it, zig zags was part of it so the bit before zig zags isn't too bad, me and another car not far behind me start going down zig zags at about 120 and then my brakes....DONT WORK! they got all "spongey" and I couldn't brake so I had to turn even sharper and broke traction to not go off the edge and then stomped on the brakes to have them barely stop me in time for the hairpin turn, I stopped half way down and checked my brakes... The heat coming off them was crazy

And I didn't even use them much either... I usually slow down with the gearbox... these brakes are meant to work at higher temperatures anyway... what the?

Very odd graham...

I assume the rotors were cleaned and the calipers are ok as well?

Might have gotten some water in them?

Very odd... and kinda dangerous!

The calipers should've been okay, I didn't machine the rotors but I did wipe them down with a cloth before changing them

I went for another hills run today and the brakes seemd to work a bit better, pulled over to check them and they smelt really bad though, a fair bit of dust on the rims (some from last night though) and stupidly I touched the brakes!!

I now only have half a fingerprint on my index finger on the right hand...

I am still running in the EVO's pads... in the last one it took 1500kms for me to feel 100% with them... and the smell to go away!

called mainroads today and zig zags doesn't have a speed limit..

I was fairly sure it didn't but just wanted to check :P

State limit of 110 still applies though.

i did not know that... but omg if you could reach 110km and NOT crash on the zig zags you'd best become a rally driver. lol.

Don't be a passenger with Graham then :P

I've been down there 3 times. I do about 40 max. (kangaroos)

Is there anywhere less dangerous without a speed limit? Lol.
