I just got my phone bill and I exceeded my cap by 60 dollars. Not a good feeling since my parents pay for it... One very lengthy mobile to mobile basically shredded all my credit and I didn't realise it and kept on texting.
I know this is nothing in comparison to most people so how much have you shredded your cap by? Let's see if we can find a winner...

if this includes data, then well, lesson learnt was don't use data roaming when overseas a $2.2k bill for data, a heart attack and thinking wtf? but thankfully i was able to talk with telstra and they wiped the data charges - phew!! (although the timing for me worked out really well as there was a bit of media attention on data charges the days prior, so i really benefited from good timing
we are fascinated by that which can destroy us...
haha... this doesn't count... but I used to be on the original 3 $99 cap... which was unlimited... knocked up about $1k of calls/text... still only paid $99 :p

When I was 19 when I got a phone, didnt use it much as it was on a normal plan (about $20 a month, an extra $20 for the phone). Cap plans had only just come in but not with Telstra at this time. Phone got stolen and called up to cancel it. Was all fine till 3 months later I got a letter from Telstra's credit division saying I have 7 days to pay just under $2k...
I was still at school then and told them what happened and they said your still going to have to pay. They never cancelled the service and I was left with a $600 phone bill and just under $1200 in fees (suspended agreement, contract termination and the cost of the phone).
