Limiting the view to personal or commercial leaves out the 'community' card. ClubCJ is a community, we share and share alike.
I think Ozie has lost his cool with this one slightly, it was a great idea that has gone wrong...just a bit. Its a load of bullshit because I can guarantee I can have permission to use every photo on that screen in less than 24 hours.
However - your point is valid, and in future, ClubCJ administration will take every measure to avoid discrepancies.

Okkkk my response was lagged a bit but insert it up there between a few posts
"Ok lets chillout guys. One of my photos is up there and I'm happy and proud to have it up there. I am am amateur photographer and I do aspire to become a pro one day.
Thing is I'm sitting on the fence on this issue here.

I hope you asked the copyright owner of each of the photos for their permission to use/edit them, it's illegal to do otherwise.
Fair point. Intellectual rights, personal work bla bla bla. I know how you feel when pics are taken without permission.
ClubCJ may have been wrong in its hasty expansion of the site to attract CJ enthusiasts to create a banner to represent the car and the people. Yes, more CJ enthusiasts and not profiteering of any sort.
But then again, ClubCJ doesnt stand to profit. I'm sure if your photo was put on there you could just ask ClubCJ to take it off. If we don't want to share, then we might as well not post them up?
Another forum, Overclockers.com.au also uses member's photos on the front page to show their works and whats happening on their photography forum. No one seems to complain there.
CatP, lets just drop this one. The images were all used out of good intention. Its not like they plan to overthrow the government with it or anything.
Btw CatP, Canon or Nikon?

Like I said mate, there was no malice intended and I probably came off how I really intended not to come off. I was simply trying to help CatP explain what the laws are and how people can be effected as some of the people posting weren't really grasping how copyright law works.

I would like everyone to re-read our club Rules.
* catP your Sig is against the Clubs Rules.

This really has become quite bitchy. I think you should lock this thread, send a PM to all members whoose car photos you used asking permission to use them, that way you have written permission and if anyone asks you have the proof. Personally I would have had members submit photos for the new page and run a compititon those pictures selected get to represent the club to the rest of the WWW.
